The Rundown: Sara begins her training with Ian Nottingham, but her new teacher has ulterior motives.

Sara finds herself training with the mysterious Ian Nottingham, who seems to know more about what Sara holds then she has discovered. As the pair train, Sara begins to develop feelings for Ian, which might be part of his plan.

As Sara becomes more connected to the power of the Witchblade, Ian pays a visit to Kenneth Irons as Sara makes plans to continue her training. A visit that reveals a deeper, more sinister plan for Sara and the Witchblade.

The Story: Bennett continues to create an engaging and entertaining story throughout this issue. I continue to enjoy this iteration of the character and the agency given to her as we read about things from her perspective. I like seeing Sara become more immersed in the world of the Witchblade and more confident in her abilities. At the same time, I really like the dark mystery of Ian and his motivations and how they will clash when confronted by the truth. Another entertaining story that drew me into this world and its characters.

The Art: Cafaro delivers some intense and beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of this series and how it creates a beautiful and immersive world.
